YOU CAN ONLY CARE IF YOU KNOW
Last week I enjoyed one of the most uplifting and incredible days of my life. I attended GoodPitch2 Australia.
The day involved observing six documentary film makers pitch their movie and impact campaigns to philanthropists, community and corporate partners from around the country and overseas. From indigenous education to organ donations, each story touched the hearts and souls of everyone in the room.
The stories told had a visceral effect.
While pitching, storytelling and presentation techniques all played a major role in how the messages were conveyed, what stood out was the human to human impact that took place in the room.
One of the key lessons I walked away with was
“You can only care about something if you know about it”
The room was united by messages of hope and change.
The room was filled with many business leaders. Knowing to caring is not something that is exclusively available to cause related programs.
Whether it is the launching of a new human resources policy or the opening of a factory, stand back and read the information you have produced with the eye of your audience.
Your Small Act Major Impact activity for the week is to ask these three questions when reflecting on your content ……
What do you want your audience to know?
How do you want them to feel?
Is there anything you need them to do?
You have the power to ignite change and action when crafting your business messages.
